It’s time for our annual IIJA Gemology Week, but that title just does not cover everything we are going to do this coming event. We are offering intensive one-day classes in 5 different areas of gemology and jewelry appraisal.

Join us for an amazing day of pearls. See how the Chinese freshwater pearl forms and why it has impacted the world pearl markets so much. We will learn to identify, grade and appraise pearls in this intense one-day Pearl Day with hand’s-on experience with a variety of pearl types, shapes and qualities.
Today we will look at the various watch movements to help determine rarity and value. We will learn basic valuation and appraisal techniques, and learn successful techniques to help you sell more watches in your store, or begin your career as a watch professional.
We will spend the day looking at a huge variety of created and treated gemstones to help you identify these with the most basic gemological tools. With proper training and hands-on experience you will leave this class far more confident in the colored gemstone market.
Thursday is Diamond Day and it will be fun. We will start with basic diamond grading, then move on to some of the fun parts of the diamond market including new markets for mine cut, lab-created and even beastly diamonds. This is going to be a very fun day of diamonds like you have never seen before.
This will be an intensive one day workshop in jewelry appraisal from the viewpoint of the insurance underwriter and adjuster. We will learn how to structure your appraisal to be more easily accepted by underwriters, which will get you more business. This is open to anyone interested in becoming a jewelry appraiser. No experience required.
